Session Overview

As leaves change colours and begin to fall, we see that change is inevitable. Autumn is the perfect season to reflect on changes and all that might come with change. It’s a new school year, with new peers, new communities, and new challenges.

This week, we discuss the benefits of challenge and help our Shedders step out of their comfort zone by bringing them to new heights, sights, and places!

This week’s journeys will get our Shedders to reflect on their challenges and successes so that they can embrace change and face their challenges in their everyday lives.

Session Times & Late Arrival Policy

Please be reminded that each session begins at 8:20 am and finishes at 4:30 pm. Sometimes running late is unavoidable, but we will always try to accommodate late arrivals.

However, due to our tight schedule and reliance on ferry transportation, we are unable to wait for late participants past the start time. The ferry schedule is critical to ensuring we arrive at our destinations on time.

To make sure your child can fully participate, please arrive no later than the program start time. This ensures that everyone gets on the ferry without disruption. No make-ups or refunds will be issued due to late arrival.

We appreciate your cooperation in helping us deliver a seamless experience for all our Shedders. If an unexpected delay arises, please don't hesitate to reach out. We'll do our best to provide guidance and accommodate your situation.
We appreciate that there is a lot of information above and we will use the WhatsApp chat to remind you of all these details on a day by day basis.

The Mentors

In the lead up to your child’s week with us, please take the time to have an upbeat chat with them about what is ahead. This will allow them some time to prepare for meeting the new mentors, the other children, and the new routines they are about to be involved in. Undoubtedly, there will be some nerves but they will be greeted with friendly faces and some running around should help to quickly get them relaxed and into the right frame of mind.

Tim

A husband, father, and teacher, that calls Hong Kong home. After graduating with a Bachelor of Education, Bachelor of Personal Development, Health, and Physical Education, he taught in Hong Kong for 5 years before setting his sights on the outdoor wonderland of Niseko, Japan. There he worked on building EdVenture Niseko, an outdoor summer and winter program for children and youth. After 8 years in Japan, he decided it was time to put his energy back into his home of Hong Kong and create a "space" where he can share the lessons he has learned from his life's adventure with young people here in Hong Kong.

Marty

Martin is open-minded and a life-long learner. He graduated with a Bachelor in Urban Geography and Environment. He believes in the importance of protecting our natural environment. Martin also has experience in supporting students with diverse learning needs, particularly through greening activities to develop a more meaningful relationship with the outdoors. In his free time, he likes to skateboard and cook for his friends and family. By being part of The Shed, Martin hopes to continue promoting nature-positivity through awesome outdoor experiences.
